It just couldn't have disappeared into thin air

That's what I was thinking when I found this topless toothpaste. I searched and searched the bathroom, the bedroom (thinking perhaps she absent mindedly carried it into her room - I mean I have been know to do something like that). Nope - no lid. So I gave up and left. Came back later to do something (take the little one potty) and started to walk out and ..........................

VOILA! I mean where else would it be but stuck to the light switch? I mean really, of course I should have looked there. Duh mom!

When asked, she said - What? I thought it was a good place to put it!

Sometimes I wonder!

Cleaning with Aunt Mary

Kylie went cleaning yesterday with her Aunt Mary (who cleans houses). She was so excited all week long about her new job.

So they ended up cleaning a very small house of a friend of Aunt Mary's. He is single and has just made a small corner of his shop into a living space with a very small kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.

First Kylie says, "I have never cleaned a strangers' place before." Then when Aunt Mary asked her if she would be OK for a minute while she went to get something. She said, "Well......I have never been alone in a strangers house before." So funny!

Here is another conversation:

Kylie: Who lives here?
Aunt Mary: Mike.
Kylie: Is he married?
Aunt Mary: Nope.
Kylie: Why not?
Aunt Mary: Well he just has never found the right one.
Kylie: Why not?
Aunt Mary: I don't know.
Kylie: Well I am going to start looking for the right one when I am sixteen.

I am thinking we are going to have to have a conversation about that.

Then. While Aunt Mary was cleaning the kitchen (which is really small and only warrants a rag and a strong arm) they have this conversation:

Kylie: Why are you using that and not a mop!
Aunt Mary: Well it is a little floor. It doesn't really need a mop.
Kylie: Well two swipes with a mop and you would be done instead you are going to have to do twenty - four!

{a little later}

Kylie: I am going to follow in my mom's footsteps.
Aunt Mary: Oh really, how? {thinking she was going to say something to do with family}
Kylie: I am going to use a mop!

She just couldn't understand why Aunt Mary wasn't using a mop. Gotta love her way of thinking.

In Your Footsteps

Another reminder of something I didn't post. There is just so much.

A few months back Kylie came up to me while I was cooking dinner.

Kylie: Mom what does 'follow in someones footsteps' mean?
Me: Well it means that you want to take after someone. Someone that you look up to, that you want to be like or do the same things as. You want to "follow in there footsteps" do what they do.
Kylie: Oh.
Me: Why.
Kylie: I was just wondering what it meant. I am going to follow in your footsteps, Mommy, because you are a good mom.
Me: That is so sweet. Thank you very much.

Those are the moments I cherish. Those are the moments that make my heart melt. She is such a sweet little girl.

Dad I have something to tell you...........

While visiting with a friend the other day, I was reminded of this story.

A little over a year ago I was the Maid of Honor in a friends wedding in California. I loaded up the girls (I was pregnant with Brynnah) and headed over for probably about a week. I was also the one planning it. Anyhow we spent our time doing last minute errands and getting ready for the wedding. Jacob's mom and her husband came over to watch the girls during the wedding. So the wedding came and went and we went home.

About two weeks later Kylie came up to Jacob and told him that she had something really serious that she needed to talk to him about. She pulled him in to her room.

Kylie: Daddy I have something I need to tell you, it's really important. I have been thinking about it for two weeks and I don't know how to tell you this.
Jacob: It's ok, you can tell me.
Kylie: Mommy married some other boy while we were in California.

Of course we all got a huge laugh about it. So funny.

I am so glad I ran in to my friend otherwise I would have completely forgotten about this.

Water

I got out a bucket of water for the girls to play with today. Kylie started to pour some water on her head and Grammy said, "Are you sure you want to do that?" Kylie replies, "There are two uses for water. One to get wet and the other is to drink it and I am not drinking it!"

Okie Dokie. There you have it.

Circle of Life

Today is mine and Jacob's anniversary. The girls and I are in Montana and Kylie talked to her daddy on the phone this morning where he informed her of our Anniversary. This is our conversation after she hung up:

Kylie: Daddy said that today is your Anniversary. Happy Anniversary Mommy!
Me: Thank you Kylie.
Kylie: You have been married for 8 whole years!
Me: Yep we have.
Kylie: I wasn't there because I wasn't born yet. Neither was Allyson or Brynnah.
Me: that's right. You have to married first before you can have babies. That's the rule.
Kylie: Yep, it's the circle of life.

O how she cracks us all up. She is hilarious. Between her and Allyson I am having trouble keeping up. My notebook is filling up. I don't what I am going to do once Brynnah starts talking more.

Bubbles are bursting

Yesterday Kylie is practicing piano and her Grammy is watching her. They start to have a small argument because Kylie said that she didn't have to do a certain page that was written down in the notebook because it(the page) wasn't checked off by her teacher. Grammy was explaining that it didn't matter because her teacher had put it on her notebook to do. This exchange apparently went on for awhile. Then Kylie says, "Grammy I hate to burst your bubble but my teacher has been known to be wrong before!"

Then today they are in the grocery store getting milk and she says, "Grammy I hate to bust your bubble but this milk it too heavy for me."

Bubbles are a burstin' around here!
